Life can be a bit chaotic. We juggle so much throughout our daily routines. Sometimes it feels impossible to keep up. But wouldn’t it be nice if there were little things we could do to relieve some of the stress or simply make us feel more accomplished like we’ve cracked the code on something?

We’ve got you covered! We’re always on the hunt for the next life hack that will make our hectic day-to-day struggles a bit easier. Here are five of our favorite hacks that are free for you to try.

Prep The Night Before

This easy life hack has completely transformed how I kickstart every day. Set your morning up for success by prepping everything you need the night before.

Put the water and coffee grinds in your coffee maker so all you’ll have to do is hit the start button. Do all of the dishes the night before. Tidy up the house to create a clean and organized space.

That way, when you wake up, your mind won’t be worrying about all of the little things you need to get done before you get to jumpstart your day. This will give you extra time to read a chapter of your favorite book, meditate, do a little yoga, or simply wake up slow.

Set Your Workout Up for Success

Speaking of prepping the night before, why not do the same with your workout clothes? If you’ve been struggling to start your morning workout routine, put all of your gym or running clothes out the night before. This includes your shoes, too.

Place them somewhere visible so you won’t forget. While it’s a simple step, it is certainly a hack that will signal your brain to put your workout clothes on instead of thinking about putting them on, alleviating one step in the process to finally get your body moving.

Put Your Cell Phone Away

There is nothing worse than trying to get through a hectic day without a good night’s sleep. There are certain lifestyle changes we can make to help improve sleep, but one of the biggest inhibitors is from our mobile devices.

The blue light from our screens stimulates the brain and can impact our REM cycle of sleep. If we put our phones away at least thirty minutes before we plan to shut our eyes for the night, we can help to disrupt the pattern of broken sleep.

Another tip is to put your phone on “Do Not Disturb.” However, there may be certain people you want to ensure you receive their texts or phone calls from in case of an emergency in the middle of the night.

Add those contacts to your favorites. Then in your settings, depending on what type of phone you have, you can navigate to the section which allows you to only keep alerts on from people you’ve listed as your “favorites.”

This way, you’ll never miss a notification from your child or parent, even when your phone is set to “Do Not Disturb.”

Download Music and Videos for Free

Have you ever wanted to listen to your favorite music or save a video to your computer from an old YouTube account? Regardless of your reason why, there is a safe and free way to download music and videos from your favorite online platforms like Vimeo, Facebook, and more.

VDownloader offers both free and subscription-based software that can easily download high-resolution videos, save entire playlists, and convert your downloads to any type of file you need.

Plus, it’s incredibly user-friendly and super fast, so you won’t have long wait times. And yes, it’s legal to use as long as you aren’t using copyrighted materials for personal gain.

Set Up Auto-Transfer Into Your Savings

This little lifehack can save you a ton of money each month without you knowing it. More than likely, your bank offers auto-transfer through your accounts. Setting up a once-a-month transfer to automatically go from your checking into your savings account is a great way to help you save money.

Even an amount as small as $100 on the first of each month can save you an extra $1,200 each year that you can use for your next family vacation or save for a rainy day.

There are life hacks that can be simple like putting coffee in your ice cube trays to add to your iced coffee or setting out your gym clothes the night before to set you up for success. Just remember, life can be a little easier if you’re willing to get creative!
